Looking for non-white bone marrow donors

This is a friend of swestrup's and taxlady. He has leukemia and needs a donor who is preferably black and Caribbean. I've thrown my hat into the ring and am waiting to hear from them; mahogany, you should register if you haven't already. It's just a mouth swab.

Even if none of us people of African descent (feels odd to type that) are a match, apparently the bone marrow registries are sadly lacking in registrants who aren't white. We need to address that.

I saw that. I have to finish clearing before I can register, though I doubt I'd be any sort of match given my genetics. The active duty military have their own database, but given my imminent ETS, it'd be irrelevant to use their system, but I'm also blocked out of the civilian one until I complete my ETS. Timing is everything, eh?
