You so need to be able to BEAM IN to MCCT each Sunday. Because, in Brent's words, there's nothing hypocritical about being at one end, in the middle, or the other end between outright scepticism and belief that the Bible is the literal word of God. It's also a part of his Big Tent philosophy, that our church is big enough to allow people with many differing interpretations to mingle under one roof, as long as there is respect for all opinions.
When you see how many people attend who are Jewish, Muslim, Sikh and some faiths that I don't recognize (mainly from headwear), you know that they are comfortable being there and have no problem in maintaining their autonomous beliefs while in a mostly progressive Christian milieu.
But, getting back to your hesitation, do you really think you'll need to pass an Entrance Exam on the Bible, should you attend a Christian church? After all, there are so many people who attend primarily for a sense of community and not because they need to go around spouting Bible verses. [I think there's been far too much brainwashing by the big-mouthed fundamentalist idjits in that direction.]
