Aug. 21st, 2003 07:30 pmYesterday I woke up feeling off-centre, so when I went to pick music for the drive to work and back, I decided I should put in some Sublime. It did the trick. By the time I got to work, I felt centered and like myself again.
I mentioned to Mustafa, ¨So, I´ve been listening to Sublime¨ and he said without knowing about my off-centre feeling, ¨Yeah, sometimes you just gotta listen to them to bring yourself back to reality.¨
What IS it about this band which hasn´t existed since 1998 because the frontman died of a heroin overdose that makes things so right when you listen to it? Bradley was an incredibly tormented human being, a drug addict who was probably bipolar, who somehow managed to pour so much joy into his work that it´s palpable.
So I´ve decided to work on my dissertation every day. Yesterday I wrote another two pages before realizing I really *do* need to make notecards. So that´s my project now, although I also want to get to the gym. My body is saying, ¨Work me.¨
