I did 1.8 miles around Chollas Lake today, even though it was raining slightly. I figure unless it's over 110 out I should keep running like that.

I'm going to finish up 08th Team now, then get back to work on my dissertation. I had to write 2 pages on the theories of Elizabeth Johnson, but I think I can pretty much just edit from here.

Overall reactions:

GREAT mobile suit battles. Totally engrossing. That, unfortunately, is about all the good I can say about this OAV.

I hate all the characters except for Yuri Kellarny and Norris Packard, both of whom kick ass. Actually, Kiki the guerilla isn't too bad. Am I the only one who sees some Kiki in Cagalli from SEED?

Otherwise, Shiro is all right until he becomes blinded by love. Aina is all right once she starts standing up to that creepy brother of hers. Karen might as well have been played by an extra wearing a sign that says, "I am a stereotype". Eledore and Michel are twits.

The 12th episode is one of the most inexplicable things I've ever seen. Why bring in THAT many new plot elements in order to tie up a couple of loose ends? It was some of the worst anime storytelling I've seen yet.

I'm going to watch Miller's Report out of a sense of completism, but really, 0083 is far better than this, even if it does have Kou and Nina and protagonists. The supporting cast are all worth the price of admission.

The Godlike show "Robot Chicken" (and prushrush, if you haven't seen this yet/have any access to it, tell me and I'll start taping because you NEED it) proposes that 15 years ago, the "cool" Michael Jackson was kidnapped by aliens and what we have now is a fake left in his place.

Makes as much sense as anything.

I was kicking myself because I haven't finished revising chapter 5. Then I realized that it's 47 pages long and I've had to do a LOT of re-writing. Maybe I better lay off the masochism, eh?

This is the style of license plate I want. When I get back from AIT I want to buy a Jeep Cherokee. My only gripe is that this style plate only allows 6 digits for a personalized plate. Foo! I'm thinking of SG ZEON. Maybe LADY K if it's available. Or MS KISH. There are possiblities.
