We just got back from a $24 dollar trip to the vet. Mission Valley Pet has walk-in hours on Saturday, so I brought in Mei-Mei with her glucometer. Ours runs 30 points higher than theirs, but either way she is the low end of normal right now. The vet wants us to do one more test and then possibly reduce her insulin dose. Excellent news.

Another reason to like this vet is that they put out a spread of fresh fruit, muffins and danishes for the people. Beat THAT.

Yup, Mei-Mei definitely has a new court physician.

One funny thing though; as I was sitting there I got a phone call "from the vet, to ask about Mei-Mei". I said I was in the lobby. Turns out that it was VCA Angel calling to confirm her appointment on Monday. "I am NEVER going to you again!" I yelled, and hung up. Not only does their vet know jack about feline diabetes, she never could be bothered to know Mei-Mei's name when she called, only referring to her as "kitty", they really missed the clue bus when I came to take Mei's records to a new vet.

Chilling out now.

Dammit!

Can't I say a fucking thing without it turning political? I didn't blame anyone for the price of burritos going up, did I? The post has been deleted.

I made this for dinner today. Cheap, quick, and yummy:

1 cup grated cheddar cheese
1/2 cup Bisquick
1 cup milk
2 eggs
8 slices crisp bacon, crumbled (I use turkey bacon)

Put the bacon and cheese in a greased 9-inch pie pan. Whisk up the other ingredients and pour on top. Bake in a 400 degree oven for 25 minutes. And that's all you do!

You can also substitute the bacon with anything. Cooked chicken, vegetables, whatever you have in the fridge.

Serve with tossed green salad.
