Day of the Fanboy

electorprince agreed with me that this is one which might just merit raising one's expectations.
americanstd, electorprince later went into the office so americanstd could work while we all watched the Germany/Spain game. The guys were rooting for Germany and I wasn't really rooting for anyone, only watching to see who was going to play Holland in the finals. Spain won, so I'll be supporting them on Sunday. We need to get Steve an orange shirt and green hat; he'll not only cheer for Oranje but he'll look like one.
And then we had an earthquake. It felt like we'd been hit nearby with a rocket, which I'm used to, but I realized almost instantaneously that it was something natural. Steve said, "That was a gooder!" andelectorprince was mildly un-nerved while happy to have another experience to his credit.
After that we drove up to Mysterious Galaxy bookstore to heargrrm read. Ryan forgot about it and audience members were prohibited from demanding the old guy FINISH "Dance of Dragons". He read the prologue from the book, and I'd heard him read a chapter at Comic-Con two years ago. I guess this means I've heard as much from the book as anyone. electorprince commented afterwards that GRRM looked healthier than he'd expected, so it's possible he might finish before dropping dead.
By now it was after 2000, so we popped into Pancho Villa's to raid the baked goods section. The E-prince has become completely addicted to the bolillos and wanted to sample pan dulce. There were plenty of leftovers at home, so we consumed those and watched the third original Gundam movie. We haven't been dithering about fanfiction as much as I expected, but we are moving forward.
Steve's in court right now, and the Prince is still asleep, but we're planning on watching Gundam Igloo and answering the phones while Steve works. We're hitting Old Town later today.
