"Game of Thrones" is a no-go at this station. I got 20 minutes into it and had to turn it off because it was making me so angry.
To cut to the heart of the matter, it reminded me of what a pile of shit (and never to be completed shit at that) the "Song of Ice and Fire" series became. "Feast For Crows" was awful, and watching the opening of the series, with all the plotlines that got started and NEVER went anywhere, was pissing me off.
By "Feast", we had lost all sight of the direwolves, the Others and for pete's sake just the simple "winter is coming". Gone. Poof. GRRM was too busy introducing characters who aren't playing any real role in the storyline he began (House Greyjoy is badass, and they need to be excised and just given their own book) or torturing his existing ones for no apparent purpose.
electorprince was bothered by the North not being the frigid and snowy area described in the book to stop watching, but I was. One of the things that I liked about the first book so much was that I read it in precisely the climate conditions GRRM was describing, namely a Montreal winter. What "Game" showed was a warm and wet fall. I also don't like many of the choice of actors, hate the blue-tinted light they used as a shorthand for "bad weather" and don't even get me onto my "Why does everyone in SF/Fantasy on film have to have an English accent?"
If I ever get my dreamed-of live-action "Gundam", only Bright Noah gets an English accent because he's ENGLISH, dammit.
Nope, no more, I'm off this bus, nah nah nah nah, hey hey, goodbye. Ryan has to watch this alone.
