Hello Fresh A-OK
Sep. 7th, 2019 10:00 amMy first box arrived on Wednesday, and the first meal I prepared was "Mushroom-Tomato Ragu with Cheesy Polenta". Each meal is in a paper bag, containing small containers of fresh veg, individual packets of spices or broth, and any other ingredients. The meal was tasty and I get three meals out of each, which means the only grocery shopping I really need to do is breakfast related.
Yesterday my friend Caitlin was installed as spiritual leader at Temple Etz Rimon, 45 minutes north of where I am. She's an ordained cantor, as I said. So after leaving work I picked up Koba at a trolley station and we suffered an hour on the I-5 to Carlsbad.
The service was a Shabbat Friday in the Reform tradition, cause it's a Reform congregation, and the installation was a sermon and blessing from the Jewish Renewal rabbi. (Jewish Renewal is egalitarian Chasidic movement, which is what resulted with a Lubavitcher rabbi took LSD with Timothy Leary.)
After that it was close to 8 pm and we were starving. I looked at Yelp to see what was nearby and found a place called Harumama Noodles and Buns. They're brand new and I want to give them a great review because they offer three different kinds of broth and you can add things to personalize it. I had a vegetarian ramen with fried tofu and kale ramen. I made sure that the kale ramen was actual ramen with kale as opposed to those vegetable "noodles" that are carved from zucchini or the like. The broth was made with coconut milk and black garlic oil and the entire bowl was delicious. The staff were really nice and accommodating and 10/10 want to go back and try other dishes.
Relaxing and watching antiquing videos, with plans to go to the gym at around 1 when it will be empty.
