You haven't seen Dr. Strangeglove??? You should! Its a wonderful cold-war comedy. Oh, and you haven't seen Metropolis unless you've seen the recent german reconstruction. They spent years searching for lost sections and unbutchering it. Their version is 75% complete, with inserted panels to describe the missing bits. It makes a lot more sense that way.
