lady_kishiriadmckilli made me hip to this. A fellow in England is transcribing his great-grandfather's letters from the front in WWI as a blog:http://www.wwar1.blogspot.com/
I love all the cigarette smoking and the smack to the face of people who whinge, "Oh, people were so much more well-educated and literate back then!" Add a few lolcats and Harry's blog would read like any modern one.
