My comment on the Open Source Boob "Project"

My breasts are not open-source. They are licensed and that license doesn't transfer freely to other users. Although I'd be very frightened to find pirated versions of my breasts sold by street vendors in Kuwait.

OK, what? Color me stupid, but "the Open Source Boob 'Project'"? When did this happen, and is there money to be had from licensing my breastices? There's got to be something they're good for other than flopping and causing me back pain.

Google it. It was an event at Penguicon, which many people are now boycotting, where you could come up and ask a woman if you could feel her breasts in order to "demystify" and "desexualize" them.

Many women called bullshit on the whole thing and there has been much snark.

[livejournal.com profile] eosin explained it to me.

WTF, I don't want random strangers feeling my boobs. D:

What's there to demystify about boobs?
