Another thought about this is that they essentially don't believe Catholic parochial schools are Catholic enough. I don't think they are either but not for the same reasons. These are the folks who think parochial schools have been overtaken by "liberals" and "liberal agendas." That's why they home school.
I suppose cost might be an option for some as well. Catholic schools are getting damn expensive.
