Today I...
Oct. 1st, 2011 10:48 pmWent running at the track at Naval Station San Diego. Speed was not on my side, but I got the two miles done. I hadn't eaten breakfast, so maybe that had something to do with it. I have to keep working on my run because I want to raise my PT score again.
Steve and I went to Wal-Mart for necessities, such as toilet paper. It's the first of the month so no way was I setting foot in any military commissary. Plus it's the weekend of the Miramar Air Show (shudder) so MCAS is effectively a no-go area until Sunday evening. While we were at Wal-Mart, Steve saw a desk he'd been wanting, so he spent the day putting that together.
As I'd promised myself, I played "Space Marine" for a couple of hours. I read about 100 pages of "The Lies of Locke Lamora" which is delightful and I'll be handing it off to Ryan to ease his George RR Martin withdrawal when I'm done. Currently he's catching up to me with "The Bonehunters", book 6 of the Malazan series. I'm also working on "Lord of the Night" and can't understand why it's out of print, because it's one of the better 40K books out there.
Football tomorrow.

Date: 2011-10-02 04:20 pm (UTC)My preferred shopping time is a day or two before payday at about 10 a.m. That way the shelves are fully stocked and the crowds thin and mostly retirees.
