So I'm having trouble with my weight. My body seems to have decided to be 140 lbs, no matter what, although I admit I haven't been working out at least four times a week the way I'd prefer. I've been getting one workout, on the weekend.
This would be tolerable except for the one thing that constantly ruins my life, namely the Army. You see, the Army dictates that at 40, a woman my height may reach a weight of 133, and she can't go above that. Ever. I know it's not a big deal to have to go get taped (for BMI, which everyone except the Army knows is horseshit) but I still get a feeling of failure.
Let's add to this mix that I have a PT test on Saturday and I've hurt my back. I think it's the position in which I'm sleeping; it's in my lumbar curve and I wake up every morning in pain; have been since Friday. We rotated our mattress last night and I woke up this morning feeling better, but it still hurts. So on top of knowing I'm going to have to be taped on Saturday, I also am working to give myself permission to not excel on the PT test, to just concentrate on passing it.
I've made a doctor's appointment but the earliest I can be seen is Thursday. I'd look into getting a doctor's note about the test, but if I do, not having taken my PT test on time is going to bollux up a whole lot of things. I'm RSTing the next two drills, and I don't think I can go without a PT test that long.
Oh, and there's another thing. As of the end of this month, the Reserves will no longer pay for hotel rooms, so going to drill is going to have to be 100% out of my own pocket. Great. So not only do I get to drive 210 miles round trip to essentially get abused, I will now have to pay for the privilege. Yes, I've announced I'm going to ask to transfer to a nearby unit.
The Reserves is cutting out the lodging program as a cost saving measure. Because ending the wars is too much to ask.<./lj-cut>

Been kind of "blah" over here, too.
