Really, City of San Diego?
Aug. 2nd, 2012 08:34 pmAbout four months ago, the City started repairing all the streets in my immediate vicinity. Yay!
Unfortunately, once they reach our little corner of the world they messed up big time.
Masha and Kirk, two friends of ours, were over here so we could all go out to dinner. This was a month ago. As we walked outside, Kirk looked at the construction and said, "Oh, these guys are gonna be back. Probably two or three times." He explained why, but I didn't "get" what the reasons were.
Well, Kirk was right. For the past week, they've been ripping up our street for the third time. Thing is, they're only doing it at NIGHT. They start around 10 pm or so and continue on until 8 in the morning. It's driving everyone in the condo complex nuts. The folks at the front of the building really cannot sleep, but even for those of us at the back, the sound carries really effectively into our windows.
For the past few days I've been depressed, and Steve more so. This morning it hit me--neither of us has gotten a good night's sleep in at least a week. It's affecting the cats too; they're being really obnoxious at night, as the noise seems to be upsetting them.
As HOA president, Steve is calling our city councillor tomorrow.
