The church of my childhood
Oct. 6th, 2012 08:26 pmThere's a whole series on Brooklyn churches. I sent my mom the one on St. Barbara's, where she and Dad were married in 1964. This one is the church where I spent a lot of time in visiting my Dad's parents. The last time I was in it was when we buried my grandpa in 2000.
At 14 minutes, note God the Father in the baldoccino painting, sitting above God the Son. That God scared the bejoobity out of me as a kid, and He's always been the one who I feared would send me to hell. And now you understand me much more than you did before.
