I'm only a few chapter into it, but [livejournal.com profile] cinchntouch, stay tuned. This novel is actually scaring me, to the extent that I've decided to hold off reading more of it until I'm home and don't have to sleep by myself!

Sounds promising. I think the best place to read horror novels are in strange hotels/motels and on buses (airplanes aren't quite as spooky).

I read Doctor Sleep in a hotel in phoenix and had to sleep with the light on.

I can't remember what I was reading, but I was at motel in Texas (fairly rural part of the Dallas area) and almost scared the hell out of myself. I actually ended up in the lounge where I had a great conversation with an insomniac woman doing her laundry.

Apparently it's a sequel to a trilogy. Have you read the trilogy? (Not sure it's worth 9 bucks, and our library doesn't have it. I'll wait until it goes on sale.)
