Kindle Fire recommendation

I know bothwombat_socho and bork have advised me away from the $49.99 Kindle Fire 7'. What about the next step up, the 6'? I'm perfectly fine with special offers; I have those on my paperwhite.

The 10 inch Samsung tablet we have is nice and functional but it's too big for my hands. I don't think the iPad is anything special, and it's expensive. The Fire is the most economical tablet out there, and I did love my first-generation one.

I think that the next step up would be OK. However, I haven't seen the Kindles since my Amazon gig ended in November.

Was I that harsh? It's been okay for the limited uses I've been putting it to - watching the occasional TV show, playing games, and reading comics. I can't even remember why I was annoyed with it back then.

You were annoyed at the charging cable, which didn't fit reliably into the Kindle and consequently might charge or might not. That's a bad flaw.

It got better. Or I got better. Anyway, it's not a problem now. Go buy one.
