Ju;ly 5 and I suppose I should update. Steve ended up not going to OC, so on Saturday night he was here when [livejournal.com profile] caprine came over. I think some topics got a bit squicky for him, but he responded by putting in DVDs of The Family Guy and Aqua Teen Hunger Force, which made her head go boom. There was talk of the Crack Monkeys, little monkeys in fezzes rolling out the 85-lb rock with a pipe to match. I want some such creatures.

Steve also smoked some chicken, which required a large bong. Well actually he's learned to smoke meats on the barbecue and has been doing this to excellent effect. A chunk of tuna smoked, flaked, and served with mayo and wasabi is deee-licioius!

On Sunday we went to OC to see Steve's family and hook up with Tony. We'd all thought going to see Spider-Man 2 would be good.

So, did we see the same movie everybody else did? Cause I have been told the Spider-Man sequel was wall-to-wall action while this was a chick flick with a superhero in it. At the 90-minute mark, after only 2 action sequences and the advent of an AMAZING Dr. Octopus (casting Alfred Molina, who can get such madness in those gentle-looking eyes of his) I said to Steve, "I'm bored shitless." All in all I think it was 3/4 angst/talk to 1/4 action. The whole "Peter Parker is a loser" thing got real old real quick, and then they kept it up. I was disappointed.

However, I am cheered that the SPONGEBOB SQUAREPANTS movie will be out for American Thanksgiving! [livejournal.com profile] thepunkpanther, if I'm in T.O. when it opens WE ARE GOING. Crackmonkeys!

We looked everywhere for a yuppie pizza place (I had a hankering for a yuppie pizza with basil on it) and settled on Tu Tu Tango (I almost wrote Yu Yu Hakusho) in the Block. Good food but so TINY. (Shrinkray!) The pizza was just the right size for me, but the guys were kind of left hungry.

Then I came home to find that the Zeta Gundam boxed set has been delayed again. This was announced at Anime Expo, which went on this weekend; we passed con-goers on our way to the Block. I am so, so glad I bought the Hong Kong bootleg.

So today I really have to get writing. It's been a fun weekend, but productivity has been low.
