Jul. 28th, 2004 07:21 pmResponding more publicly to something Sahari observed, there wasn't a lot of anime I came away from Comic-Con burning to see. I was just watching when I had a few hours to kill.
Comic Party was one I'd like to see more of. It's about a bunch of teens on the verge of college who want to be manga artists. In the episode I saw, they had been accepted into some doujinshi competition and were hoping to be picked up by a publisher. I like "making our dreams come true" plotlines, and having them be manga artists charmed me.
RODD TV. I think that was the name. Three sisters have power to control paper and come to Japan to be detectives. Beautiful art, odd premise. Maggie, the oldest sister, cries if she has nothing to read. I sympathize.
Can't remember the name of the third, but I've seen fanfic for it...It's about a group of young men who seem to bounce between the modern world and medieval Japan. Ryujei or something like that.
Otherwise, I've decided I really do not like Witch Hunter Robin at all. I've seen three episodes and it seems to be all gloom and angst. Wedding Peach looks a horror. I'm somewhat willing to give Marmalade Boy a chance for some reason, even though it's a high school romance story.
I'm hoping to sit down to the Ruruoni Kenshin OAV with Steve soon. In the meantime, I've plenty to watch.
