Jul. 31st, 2004 09:35 pmAs predicted, I've been in a very lighthearted mood indeed. Steve, Ryan, Matt, and I went to Olive Garden on Friday night to celebrate me being done with ProSource, then went back to our house to watch Sealab 2021 on DVD.
Today, we drove up to OC to transfer the car from mom-in-law to me and Steve. We also took her to Costco for dog food so she and Pop wouldn't have to do it tomorrow. Pop enjoyed Shadow's photos, which I brought along to show. Mom-in-law once again complained that she couldn't understand why the US is there. We're going to direct her to vote for Kerry at the election (she always asks Steve who she should vote for) because he was in Vietnam, which is something she can understand.
After that, Steve, Tony, and I went to go see "The Village". Steve was bored, Tony said it was OK, but I quite enjoyed it. It's quite slow and very atmospheric--and then Something Happens. I recommend it for those who are used to European-paced films, but if you prefer the faster, less subtle American way of storytelling, you may wish to pass.
Downstairs now to watch some Ruroni Kenshin with Steve.

Date: 2004-08-01 10:35 pm (UTC)Also saw "The Village" and enjoyed it. It was somewhat predictable (ie I figured out the end fairly early in the movie), but entertaining and (as you've said) atmospheric. Loved the actress who played Ivy. Joaquin Phoenix also did a splendid job.
