(no subject)
Aug. 8th, 2004 05:02 pmI spent yesterday at UCSD getting more sources on the Conquest. The goal is to start cruising through them and get writing the next section of the dissertation. I got a couple of articles although one turned out to be about evangelization in Mexico by Protestants in the 20th century. However, I still may have a use for it in the dissertation anyway.
On the way home, I started to feel down. I stopped at St. Rita's because I'd been wanting to go to confession, waited around 10 minutes and no one unlocked the church. Oh well, I made due diligence.
I made very yummy chicken with marinara sauce and cheese, but continued to sink, which is why I didn't attend Sabbat at Shooters. I felt ugly and unready to deal with a new situation.
Today I went to
caprine's place to go to the Ren Faire with her. Her day has been lousy; she started with sewage coming up through her shower drain because some numbskull FLUSHED A PAIR OF PANTIES which clogged up the pipes. So that made us late to the Faire, which meant parking was impossible, so she generously just dropped me off with a pass to the Faire. (Thanks, Caprine!) The couple I was with, who were waiting for us, were very nice and knew a lot about dogs and I have questions.
The Faire itself was merely okay; it's very small, not at all like the monstrous one in Maryland which has permanent facilities because it's so huge. I saw some childrens' skirts that would fit me, but they were $30. I have to make myself or find a traditional Aztec woman's outfit for such events. I can explain that I was brought back as a souvenir.
I moved my palm tree to the sun deck and need to bring up some pots to start growing tomatoes. That way I can have an arbour for when I'm sunbathing topless.
