lady_kishiriaAfter the panel and a tour of the dealers' room, I went back for a nap and barbecued dinner with the in-laws, this being independence day and all. After dinner we went over to Tony's where Steve and he promptly fell asleep. So I computered for a while until we went out towards the convention centre for my fanfic panel at 10.
EEK! I have never seen traffic like that before, since everybody in Orange County was going to Disneyland for the fireworks. I made it to the panel with 10 or 15 minutes to spare. The panel already going on was on setting up a fan website, and the people doing it had some pretty good tips and ideas; I will post the URL if anyone is interested.
Nobody knew my work at the fanfic panel, but maybe someone will read me later. Topics were copyright law as pertains to fanfic, pet peeves (total OOC until it should be original fiction, Mpreg, great stories that are never finished), protecting your own work, etc. J.K. Rowling likes Harry Potter fanfic, it turns out, unless it's the porn kind. "Burger Bill" said that this must be why the fifth book was so late; she was reading fanfic!
Total swag from the con wasn't much, but I didn't expect it to be. I got a giant Pocky, a Hamtaro guidebook, and a stuffed Ein I'd been wanting. I also got a cel of Reinhard for Quess. When I talked to her on the phone, she squealed, which is the reaction I was hoping for. It's a nice one, he is in the black uniform, kind of smiling in a nasty way, and it looks as if he is about to hit someone.
The Hamtaro book rules. It has all the characters, an episode guide...and the choreography for the dance Hamtaro does at the end of the show! EEEEEEE!
Art show and another circuit of the dealers' today. Maybe I will watch some anime itself. This is a trade show, so the panels aren't much more than "what's coming out next from X company" which is fine, but I like discussion panels and miss them,
