[livejournal.com profile] patgund raises a good point. Smirky was, of course, not really elected. He may have won, but ultimately I don't know. He had to be legislated in, in the final analysis.

And if he wins a second time, given that the Republicans are buying and manipulating voter lists (I make sure to carry my registration in my wallet), planning on using voting machines that will have no paper trail (and sending out letters to Republicans telling them to vote absentee, so that for *their* votes there will be one), and if they're really scared, planning on cancelling the election, perhaps he still won't have been elected.

When the Mexicans are laughing at the level of American government corruption, which they are, things are at a pretty pass indeed.

You can do it on line in many states. Check out the Rock The Vote website. But yes, you MUST.

Meh...you already know my reasons for fearing Bush's reelection.

The thing is...

Despite what others have said...the 3 official recounts they have done, as well as the 2 others that the press did, show that Bush actually did take Florida, albeit with a razor-thin margin.

However, this does not discount the fact that Bush v. Gore was still decided by the Supreme Court. One can read the decision at:
http://www.supremecourtus.gov/florida.html

Now, I know the left would love nothing more than to see Bush out of office (frankly, both candidates scare me). But, let's at least be intellectually honest. Stop seeing paranoia and conspiracy everywhere ... it didn't work for Joe McCarthy.

I'll stop seeing conspiracies everywhere when the neo-cons stop proposing them. All the ones I mentioned in my post here are fully documented.
