German usage questions

lady_kishiriaThis is mostly aimed at prushrush, but if you speak German, feel free to contribute...I need to know three things for a "Legend of the Galactic Heroes" fanfic:
1. Does the U in "von Musel" have an umlaut?
2. Annerose's father calls her "liebchen". I use this because it's the only German pet name I know. Does anyone have a better one?
3. What is the word for a German apple cake (not a streudel)? It almost doesn't matter which one.

Date: 2004-10-03 08:37 am (UTC)On a side note, my true last name was once spelled with an e after the u, but then the e was dropped and an umlaut was was added. And then, of course, when we were imported to America, the umlaut passed away like a distant memory. :)
