Oct. 29th, 2004 07:15 pmOkay, True Believers, I voted today.
I sent away for an absentee ballot in a fit of (justified) paranoia. It arrived while I was back in Canada. Today I filled it out and drove it over to the Registrar of Voters.
Whew! I'm glad I did. There was a huge line going into the polling station for advance voting; I guess I'm not the only fearful one. As for me, a sheriff directed my car towards a white tent where the volunteers took my ballot envelope and handed me an "I voted!" (or as SteveO would put it, "I farted!") sticker.
What did I vote? Sure, I'll tell you. Kerry/Edwards, of course, Jim Grey (Libertarian) for Senate, Lori Saldana (Dem) for Congress, and Donna Frye (hippie) for mayor.
As I left, Osama was on the radio, making it clear that for all Bushie's chest-thumping, he's still alive and well. Bush is a hardcore asshole, and I can't wait to see him and Laura packing their prayer rugs and getting the FUCK out of the White House.
