Jun. 1st, 2005 10:22 amFor the record, yes the apprehension is setting in. I talked to my dad last night and now his sister, my aunt, is freaked out "because of what she sees on TV". I don't know if Mom told Abuela yet. She was thinking of telling her that I was actually in jail, not BCT. I guess I'd be in the lockup again if I got deployed. I told her to use the crime of civil disobedience for the 6 month absence, and I guess I'd get a year for a second incident with maybe me biting a police officer.
It just looms like such a long time, even though I know it'll go by fast. BCT is only two months, and after that I'm in Virginia with my family nearby. My dad's already found out about getting a pass to go onto Fort Lee whenever he needs to fetch me. Of course, he's Secret Agent Man too, so he probably can go onto any military base at will if he shows his Office of Secret Intelligence card like Brock Sampson does. (Is that the name of his outfit,
youngfreud?)
Shadow got the word; he's going back to Iraq in mid-2006. We're figuring I'll be in the baggage somewhere, along with his LOTR playset and his garden gnome.
