I was able to run 2+ miles today with only one stop 1/4 mile from home to hit my ventolin. It's nasty hot/dry today, fire weather for sure. As I was running, my eyes were burning nastily and I could feel the dryness in my mouth. Still, I ran my goal distance, on the route with hills no less.

I like running in the early morning because I can see all the cats coming home from their nightly Cat Congress or whatever it is that they're doing.

Well, off to shower, do laundry, and get this day rolling. I have to think of something I can Crock-Pot for dinner because I work from 3-9 tonight.

All I want to do is move.

I don't know if the economy is *really* better in other parts of the country, but it's sure as shit in the toilet in San Diego. I'm not feeling like a loser because I have to do phone surveys to bring in some cash because after this little gig, the phone survey place is in a hiring freeze. Yeah. I'll let that sink in.

Even law firms like Procopio are laying off. I had a job interview for an incredibly crappy job and found that even attorneys were applying for it.

So I'd like to move (my ongoing horror at this always hot, always sunny San Diego weather is really getting to me) but A. I don't know if that would do me any good and B. even if I could, the fact that I am jobless now prevents me from doing it.

Last night I watched the first disc of "Horatio Hornblower: The New Adventures" per electorprince's recommendation. (I noticed that seki_raku gave it five stars.) I enjoyed it, but got the sneaking suspicion that the books are better.

I read a Wikipedia article and found that North Park Branch of the SD Public Library has the first three books of the series. I started noodling about fitting a trip to the library into my day, then realized I still had 300 pages of that Crusades book to go, needed to finish off "False Gods" in the "Horus Heresy" series, and had a Lt. Leary novel waiting in the wings. So no new books until I make a dent in that!
