(no subject)

So here's the situation:

I sent my advisors my dissertation over a month ago. I haven't heard back, so I revised my bibliography and sent that. No response.

Mme. Couture, who is one of my advisors, is refusing to write reference letters so I can look for work.

I just got denied a job because of my dual citizenship.

I feel the walls closing in on me and don't know what to do.

come home

What? Why is that a problem for an employer?

I would not blame you one bit if you wanted to hightail it outta here.

Check up on the dissertation thing. I smell the proverbial rat. That's wierd that you would send them stuff and not hear anything back. If anything, phone call, email or fax along the lines of "Excuse me, I exist" is here. About the recommendation thing, I don't know if there's anything you can do about that besides ask another advisor?

Wierd that you won't get accepted for a job because of your dual citizenship. That makes me all wtf-y too.

I've e-mailed. Believe me I've e-mailed. As for phoning, neither advisor has a direct line because one is a dean and another is an assistant dean.

That is so shitty they won't respond to you! There must be something wrong. Or maybe they are really busy. I hope you get through to them!

So you are both an American and Canadian citizen? I wasn't sure.

(Remember the movie my icon is from? =P)

Yes, I'm a dual citizen, U.S./Canada. I never gave up my U.S. citizenship because I don't believe in burning bridges. More the fool I.

Not sure what movie your icon references, sorry.

Wuthering Heights with Ralph Fiennes and Juliette Binoche.

Ah. Never seen that version, sorry.
