This article, about neopagans and the plurality of opinions towards the Iraq war says a lot of things I often say about...a lot of things, most notably how freedom of speech means giving voice to people you honestly can't stand and would love to have shut up, and why yes, a granola little weirdo like me CAN be in the military, thanks for asking.

Onto other things, I went out last night with Bean and Ryan (aka Teg). Steve was working on essays, so he likes the time alone. We checked out the Zombie Lounge first and found it over-rated. Ryan's observation was that he could run it out of his garage, it was that small. Conspicuous hipsters who all knew each other. Dark. They got points for the C-movie playing on the TVs; it looked like "Jesus Christ Vampire Hunter" crossed with the special effects for "Dr Who".

After two drinks, Bean and I felt we should get some protein, so we drove over to Sombrero's, who proved to me once again that it's possible to make Mexican food with no flavour whatsoever. We agreed we didn't want to go back to the Zombie, so we went to our old standby the Three Crowns on Adams.

Much better! The proverbial clean and well-lighted place, I'll say. The drinks aren't expensive and the owner works the bar. Bean's band has played here a few times, but we didn't see Old Fappy there. The Biddy Boms are playing on the 21st, maybe he'll be there then.

I'm not nearly as hung over as I should be, but the water I drank last night tasted like Robitussin going down. If I'd drunk milk, it would have tasted just like that horrible liqueur Kris is storing in our fridge.
