Does anyone else have a cat who does this?

The Kaiser and the Tsaritsa eat kibble. The Kaiser has a strange way of doing it; he reaches into the bowl with his paw, drops a kibble onto the floor, eats it, then reaches in again. He also hates it if you're in the kitchen when he's eating. If you come into the kitchen he'll stop, and if you're in the kitchen when he comes in for a bite he stand there and glare at you until you say, "All right! All right!" and leave him to dine in peace.

My little one (maine-coon) will do exactly that. I feed her in the livingroom, and she will bring kibble in her mouth halfway across the room, so she can eat at my feet. I think it's a social thing. If she's just fishing

posted before finished. If he's just fishing, it may be that the kibble is getting low on big/whole pieces. It can heelp getting a lower lipped bowl.

One of my cats does that also. No idea why, she's always eaten dry food that way. Although I recently switched to a new dry food, and I'm not sure if she eats that way with the new food (the kibble pieces are *much* smaller)... I'll have to make sure and watch her eat and check.

My cat Miyo likes to do that. She also likes to lick her food out of the bowl and scatter it all over the house.

Lovelace does the kibble fishing every once in a while. I think it's a fairly common cat behavior. She also likes to dip her paws into her water dish.

My cat from my first marriage, Garibaldi, does that, as does my Fibonacci. I thought it was just a boy-cat thing.

I think it is a "I like to use my hands" thing.

one of my friend's cats pick up their kibble and throw it around: under the kitchen appliances, in their water dish etc. they like playing with their food.
