We rent our house, and the landlord is trying to sell it. Considering it's an eccentric house and he wants $600,000 for it, so far there have been no takers. Still, you never know if someone is going to want it for the land. So I'm here trying to get blood to flow UP the walls so I can blame it on the house being built on an ancient Indian burial ground or something.

Not much we can do, unfortunately, as it's *his* house. Steve's up on all the tenant-protection law, so it might not be until April or May before we have to shuffle on. I wish we could just BUY a place, but average house prices in SoCal are around $500,000 for anything that's not something the Squidbillies would live in.

No, SD is nothing like Toronto, except perhaps in housing prices. The weather is better but the mass transit sucks ass, the people are horrible, and it's overall a cultural wasteland.

But at least it's not Buffalo.

I've been into Buffalo and had friends who lived there. The town sucks horribly, nice architecture aside. What is happening to their gorgeous City Hall dome mosaics is enough to make me hate the place without shame.
