I've updated my bio to include two websites I think people should know about, Litrix (public domain books on-line) and the Center for the Study of Latino Catholicism (here, glossolalia,glossolalia,glossolalia,). More as I see fit.

Okay, I admit I don't know for sure if there's a dead body in the garages in the alley across the street! But it's making enough of a stink, and it smells like rotting meat, so...I don't want to be the one to call the cops because if it IS a human body, it's the victim of gangs and I don't want to be involved. Those garages are habitually used by auto chop-shops, as auto theft is a thriving business due to our proximity to the border. Draw your own conclusions.

We had a lovely, if brief, visit from caprine this afternoon. She came over to bring these two sculpted pendants of cat-faces in grey ceramic. She thought they were a good gift to welcome the arrival of two blue cats. Kaiser Friedrich and Tsaritsa Irina fell for caprine hard; we have never seen Her Majesty openly rub her face on a total stranger's and start grooming said stranger. We don't know if it was Caprine's conditioner, or her glasses, or what, but the Tsaritsa just went nuts. We're actually very proud of her for coming out of her shell so.

She's also snuggled against my hip as I type. Yay.

If it turns out to be a large pile of very smelly garbage with, say, the contents of a discarded freezer in it, I'd feel a right prat. Let someone who lives in front of the garage call it in to the health department.

Just phone it in to the health department from a pay phone. You shouldn't have to put up with that smell. If it's gross, it isn't good for you.
