Murphy's Law DOES apply!
Sep. 12th, 2003 05:54 pmThe anime meetup was great. Very interesting people who have jobs and write original fiction as well as being anime fans. Reece and Jenn like to cook.
We move more stuff into the new house tomorrow. I've been earmarked for being office manager at work.
So of course I get the call to schedule my Canadian Forces interview in Vancouver. I figured this would not happen until and unless I made strong steps to have a life here. Now I don't really know what to think.
I am going to start with the logical step. Since a ticket to Vancouver is expensive, I'm going to phone the recruiter on Monday (although he might be in tomorrow) to tell him that I really only want to do this if I can be a chaplain. I want confirmation that I can be one, and that there are jobs available. Last time I interviewed, I could and they did, since Canada is so into doing everything with gender parity. If not, I might not follow through. I don't know, and I'm soliciting opinions from thems who know (Punkpanther?).
If I can be a chaplain, I go in as a captain, but will be addressed as Madre, which is kinda neat.

Date: 2003-09-13 05:37 am (UTC)The Canadian military allows Catholic female chaplains. The United States does not. Figures.
If chaplaincy isn't available, Steve and I agree Intelligence would be an excellent career move for me, especially since that means I'd likely be in Ottawa.
