Things are looking up....
Jan. 28th, 2006 11:23 amIt must be all the prayers and white light and Positive Energy, thank you!
Landlord came over without warning and things went....swimmingly. He's a VERY queeny gay guy who likes to do Joan Crawford impersonations, and SteveO thinks he was just in Drama Queen mode on Thursday. He saw the house and said it looked good. The cats gave their usual adorable performance. We showed off the garage, which we cleaned up yesterday so it's better than it was when we moved in. I told him the realtor had already said she'd find us a new place when this one sells and he said that the transition should be smooth.
He also said that he'd like the place empty when it shows tomorrow, which is okay by both of us. Steve has a class and I said I always felt uncomfortable being there anyway. So the cats and I are parking at
seki_raku's place tomorrow for 3 hours.
After, Steve and I went to the diner on 43rd we'd been looking at for 2.5 years and yet never visited. We went in; George's has been open for 24 years, but I don't think the Chinese couple currently running it are the original owners. Steve had their $2.99 breakfast (scramblies, sausage, pancakes) and I went with their Chinese menu, having a *really* good kung pao chicken since I'd already eaten my usual toast for brekkie.
In other news, since I had insomnia last night, I finished off chapter 6 of "Quinto Sol" and it's now in the lupine jaws of its editor.
Oh, and we also finished the existing episodes of "Firefly". At least the last episode, "Objects in Space" was a good one. "Serenity" is at the top of the queue, but it's at "short wait" status, so it'll come when it comes.
So the State of the Rat for the day is sound.

Have fun in your emigrated-for-a-few-hours escapade tomorrow.
Hugs and all,
H.
