SPS and I were just discussing breakfast...if I mentioned a place we like called The Good Egg, forget I did! We went there today, and while they have not changed owners they've gone to an open-all-day place rather than a breakfast place. They have cut the breakfast menu down from 150 or so items to I would say 80, including the ONE dish that Steve and I just lived for, their chicken chilaquiles in red sauce.

I was adventurous and tried Eggs Benedictine with crab cake instead of ham. What can I say, it sounded good on paper but I was not pleased by the result. As a matter of fact, it put me in a bad temper. A breakfast has failed if it puts you in a bad temper. Steve didn't like his omelet (the filling was flavourless) and the service was almost nonexistent. The order was taken and delivered and she showed up to get the bill.

There are few more blah things than being betrayed by your favourite breakfast place. The IHOP sucks and we have yet to find a classic Greek diner like the kind up and down Danforth.
