Okay. So I've got an appointment in Vancouver for October 6 for my Canadian Forces testing. Unfortunately, that means I have to take off at least one day from work, and I'm wondering how I can do that without endangering my job. I have already reserved time over Yanksgiving to go back to Montreal.

I may just say I need it for "personal business" and leave it at that, since face it, I am also moving. Steve said I can also legitimately say I'm going for medical tests.

I have no idea what work is available in the Forces. This all may come out to nothing, and I told Steve I was sort of hesitant about spending a lot of money for no payoff.

there's also the matter that I asked, and the medics who do the physicals are MALE. UGH! I have a hard and fast rule AGAINST male doctors; no man touches me Down There but my husband, thank you. I gotta figure out how to get out of that; I've already pulled out the "religious restriction" line. Hopefully they will accept that, as it is pretty much true. Gross.

Anybody have any feedback from the cosmos about the rightness or wrongness of this? My gut is telling me not to do it, quite honestly.

they might respect it... but....

do keep in mind, they would figure out that its a dodge and it would be duly noted.

just a thought.

not to be overly ruthless, but theres nothing stopping you from requesting a female doctor is there? at the very least.

They don't have a female doctor. Hell, they don't have a doctor per se, there are two male medics and a female nurse. Like I said, I'll put up with it, but I'm going to need a drink after. I don't even like shaking hands with people I don't know and avoid it whenever possible. (I did tell them that I would put up with it if need be but that I wouldn't like it.)

And I hear the "But---" Dude, you're family. Of course you're allowed to shake hands with and even cuddle the Teppy.

However, this all is going to have to be put off till spring when we go to Vancouver for Donnie's wedding to the Snapping Pussy of Prophecy. I can't go now cause of work. More on this later.
