Shout out to Tiakall, who made me the icon you are now viewing. The word "nezumi" means "rat" in Japanese.

As for the Event pertaining to the title above: Steve and I went to Ikea today and had a blast. I don't know why Ikea is just so much dadburned fun but it is. We spent $22 on little implements for the new house, like hooks to hang pots from, holders for lids, felt for the ends of our chair legs (landlord lives underneath us) etc.

We come out and a white Ford F-150 is in the parking space facing our lil' Saturn, rammed up against it. Now, a Ford F-150 is a massive thing, and it's gone out of its own space, into ours, crushing its bumper against that of our car.

Steve doesn't know what to do, so I say, go into the Lowe's there (this was in front of that store, not Ikea) because the driver is probably inside. Have them paged as "owner of the white Ford F-150, license plate IMACUNT. Okay, it didn't really say that, but it should have.

After about 15 minutes, Steve comes out with this fat blond lady. He shows her that she's hit our car and she doesn't care. He asks her to exchange insurance information and she won't do it. As a matter of fact, she accuses HIM of having hit HER truck. Yeah, right! Since she won't cooperate, Steve
calls the cops.

Now, there is a Lowe's employee there to witness all this. She sits there talking to him about her life, making it damn clear that she has lots of money and her husband travels soooo much in his oh so important job and if she did hit our car, it's because she's used to driving his truck, which has a longer bed. Well, that makes it ALL BETTER, doesn't it?

The cops come and the first thing they do is to tell Steve to keep his hands in plain view. I've already decided I don't want to be around because I might say something sarcastic. However, once Rich Bitch opens her maw, it's clear who the cops are going to side with, and it isn't her. She said that she came out and "measured" how close are cars were (in other words, she admitted she arrived after us) and again insisted that we hit her, a good trick if she arrived after we did.

The cops make us separate the cars and it's determined that no harm was actually done. However we needed the cops there to make her give her insurance information in case their HAD been. This was the frustrating thing. Why couldn't she just flipping take responsibility? Is it because she thinks money will protect her from everything?

I'm happy to say that this didn't ruin Steve's and my mood, though, and we went off to go buy some bourbon, cause Steve had a hankering, and some stuff for dinner. We're now just hanging out although I did clean off the TV stand today, which was quite buried.

some people should not be allowed to drive trucks, or any vehicles at all. whomever gave this lady her license needs their head examined.

driving a truck is not ALL that much different from driving a car except for you have to add a foot or two when you're parking or doing something that involves being near a car, a person, or an object that can potentially damage your vehicle.

gah, what a dork.

Bwahahaha.
