Just got an e-mail from my bio-brother. I sent him a whole MRE (chicken breast; don't remember the menu number) last week. He wrote to me to tell me he was still deciding what wine would go best with it, and was choosing between a Cabernet or a Pinot Noir.
I told him that the chicken breast MRE had far too delicate a sauce for a red and recommended a Sauvignon Blanc, although since an MRE is meant to be eaten outside, perhaps a rose, that picnic wine par excellence, would be appropriate.
So. I had to go to Home Depot to get another bag of potting soil but now the herb seeds are in their new window box and the catnip seeds are in a separate pot. I'm waiting till tomorrow to re-plant the strap cactus. It's out of control enough that I think it will either go in a spill down from the loft or down from the roof. It'll look nice either way. I'm really hoping it'll bloom some time in the next year; strap cacti have this lovely white lily-like flower.
The landlord dropped by and now he's saying that he's *not* in a hurry to sell. Oooo-kay. He is, however, hoping for a tenant for the bottom. Contrary to what we'd been told before by the plumber, it does not flood; the recent rains proved that. He wants $850 for it, which is a very reasonable price. It's got a big kitchen, hardwood floors, fireplace, brand-new decadent bathroom (rainforest shower head!), and an enormous deck. If there are any takers on the friendslist, we'd be thrilled.
