I have work for tomorrow and Friday. It's weird though, and I don't know how it's going to work out. I was told it was for an organization of SDSU's and that it would be one location in the morning and a different one in the afternoon, with a return to the second locale on Monday.
What the agency didn't realize was that the first and second locales are in completely different parts of the city. So I will show up in the first location but they're going to have to give me a ride to the second. Steve can't pick me up because he's helping Ryan move.
I can't swear to it, but this Unemployment fiasco might be in its final stages. They sent me a letter yesterday saying I had to do a phone interview now. The time was for when I'd be working Monday, so I called to ask for a re-schedule and they did it on the spot. Apparently even if I do get this job, I get the money I've been waiting for; they won't cancel it just because I started a job. I guess this is because usually it takes several weeks to receive your first paycheque and face it, you've been struggling to keep your life together if you haven't had any money previous to this. I intend to use it to buy a vehicle. A very small vehicle with as few cylinders as possible. No pickup truck for me this time; I cannot afford the gas. I paid $3.30 on MCAS Miramar today.
I spent part of the afternoon sitting with the fur children, watching "The Matrix". I hadn't seen it in a few years and I'd forgotten what a great movie it is. It sucked me right in and the action was every bit as breathtaking as it was when it first came out. It was just nice hanging out on the couch with the Kaiser sleeping cuddled against my leg, though.
