Settled in, but...

We STILL DON'T HAVE GAS.

SDGE came by yesterday and encountered a locked gate. Now, the gas meters are in our neighbour's back yard for some stupid reason. SDGE has the key, but I guess it was too much work to use it. So again, no heat, no stove, no showers.

They're supposed to come today "Between 7:30 a.m. and midnight". Riiiight. Fortunately, Steve is off work today, and while he had a billion other things to do, looks like he'll still be waiting on them. I put a note for them in the front gate asking them to call his cell when they arrive.

Grrrrr...

Having worked for a utility company, I can honestly say that chances of them calling are slim to nil when they get there, and they'll probably ignore the note, go "duhrrrrr" and leave.

Yes, it is annoying :)

I remember seeing a story once on, I think it was CTV where they showed a shot overlooking a large suburban development with a voice over like this:

"Every day, tens of thousands of innocent people are being held hostage in their own homes. The culprit? Not illness, not gang violence, not even the weather....it's the nefarious Cable installer, or the evil Electrician, or the shadowy Phone Installer. They *say* they will be there between 8 am and 5 pm...but never call if they can't make it...and you are held hostage for another day! Can someone set them free?"

ttyl

That's hwo I feel right now, considering I'm waiting for the service tech to come fix the treadmill.
