Jan. 22nd, 2004 09:26 amFor once, I can see a few possibilities actually opening up in my life. I got a fax from school at work (happily, it was written in French so no one was going to know what it was about) saying "If you are going to receive a scholarship, you have to register your class" which in this case is "dissertation writing". So that night I faxed the form back with this info.
So that means I'm more than likely getting a scholarship. It's not much, just $3,000 Cdn, but that's enough to pay one month's rent here AND go back to Mexico for a few weeks to try to tie up some loose research ends.
I've decided that if this happens, I don't really see any reason to leave San Diego. I'll go back to Montreal for a few weeks towards the end to finalize the dissertation. What I *will* do is quit this job and stick to my guns writing once I get my FAFSA in.
Next possibility is whatever I get on the LSAT. I'm finding it really difficult, so I don't know what, if anything, that opens up. I'll do another self-test this weekend.
Third, I'm applying for a job as Associate Director of Youth Ministries at the Diocesan Institute. I'm a good administrator, so why not? Less hours, more money, in my field.
We'll see what happens. At least I don't feel as caged-up.
