Feb. 26th, 2004 08:07 pmFor the past two days, I've been in an uncharacteristically good mood. I know part of this was sheer force of will, but I haven't had my usual feeling of hopelessness. I don't miss it, either!
Yesterday when I came home there was another letter from the San Diego Sheriff's Department. Since the last time I got one it was them requesting me to vote for a certain (Democratic) candidate, I ignored it. Steve opened it and we both read it.
Well, it's a letter informing me that since all the tests have changed, they are destroying the applications from candidates who signed up previously and we can al start fresh. In other words, a second chance.
I don't know if I want this still, but it's an *option*. It's a choice, something I haven't felt I've had a lot of, lately.
On the other hand, Josephina saw the Jesus movie last night and is taking it as Gospel. The more I hear about this thing the lamer it sounds. She was moved by the scene where Jesus is scourged while his mother watches. Uh...yeah. Besides the fact that that sounds like a sick Freudian fantasy, who on EARTH would think the Romans would let a convicted criminal bring his mommy along to watch while they tortured him?
Being around Christians is making me want to find a new term for myself as a religious being. Yes, we worship the same god, but I really don't want to be associated with most of these people.
