I got told off by the vet, as I predicted. I did have to facepalm when she asked why we just hadn't bought ketone detection sticks. I forgot those existed.

We went over budget, but all the tests are necessary. She probably has a urinary tract infection, which would account for the glucose rise too. If that's the case, we do the antibiotics thing. Mei-Mei has gold plated gushy fudz, and she likes that very much. Thank God, because she wasn't eating enough since we got back.

If her fructosamine is okay, insulin also won't be needed. She isn't getting anymore unless we're told to do so. Here's hoping.

Whew, I'm glad that things seem to be getting back under control. If it's something that can be cleared up with a course of antibiotics, so much the better. I hope the rest of your week is a lot less dramatic. :-)
