Cynthia Sommer and human nature

The article is pretty bad, as I said, but the comments are what I'm pointing to.
Mrs. Sommer behaved horribly after her husband's death. In fact, she was being a disgusting dirty slut. LAST I CHECKED, THIS WAS NOT ILLEGAL. Yet people are screaming that she should still be in jail--and remember, her sentence was 25-to-life. Obviously because she's a filthy whore, she MUST have killed him, even though there's no evidence at all. People don't just suddenly drop dead, right? We've never heard of that ever happening.

A young Marine dropping dead should not be dismissed, but assuming the wife offed him isn't right, either.

Every time someone/something/a show comes up with that, I want to scream.

Promiscuous sex -- while foolish in this day and age of AIDS and STDs -- is not illegal in the United States. If it were to become illegal, that would put away most politicians, Paris Hilton, and other notables.
Going on a wild sexual rampage after husband's death =/= murdering him.
People drop dead suddenly all the time.
I'm not going to touch the death penalty issue with a nine-foot pole but I will say in this instance it was less about fact and more about moral judgment clouding justice, which I have a problem with. Whether or not I find the promiscuity distasteful, I have an issue with it being used to obfuscate the details of a case.
Anyway, yeah.

Given how much overlap there is between entertainment and 'news' on TV, this behavior doesn't surprise me.

Why is it all these comments sound the same on any news site I visit? It's the same shrill, pedantic tone. I wish the news sites would simply get rid of them. I don't want to listen what the average person thinks, that's what blogs are for. Not everything needs to be rebutted in the fashion of someone not liking a YouTube video.
